LAist Interview: CéU + El Rey Show Preview

Six Degrees Records recording artist CéU is on her way back to LA for one last show before heading home to Brazil. LAist reviewed her excellent self-titled album a few months ago and we've had a chance to listen to the Remix EP of several of those songs. Three of the best tunes from her eponymous album are featured in delightful new versions on the Remix EP. Go there and check out samples.

CéU will be appearing at the El Rey tomorrow night, with her full band for a Brazilian themed Halloween show. As she reveals in the interview below, they're thinking about donning some costumes and getting on board with a holiday that is not celebrated in Brazil. I had a chance to talk to CeU as she waited for her Albuquerque show to start, ask her about how she feels about the remixed versions of her songs as well as the various genres and subgenres of Brazilian music that she has drawn from for her recordings.
