If you have little monsters running around your house, Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich is a perfect book of poems to scare up some fun on Halloween. The book features everyone's favorite monsters like Dracula, Zombies, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, Witches on broomsticks, the Mummy... you get the picture. In one story you have Count Dracula, who's been walking around all night with spinach in his teeth, but everyone's too afraid to tell him, and well, he has no reflection.
Then there's the Phantom of the Opera, who can't get catchy songs out of his head like 'The Girl From Ipanema' and 'It's a Small World', when all he wants to do is write arias.
What makes these monsters really shine is the incredible artwork of Adam Rex. His monsters are fun and playful, and not threatening at all. These are monsters you wouldn't mind hanging out with. And even though the book is made for 4 to 8 year olds, 25 year old me really, really loves this book. I highly suggest this book to anyone who loves monsters, food, and good artwork.

The book looks like a joy and makes me wish my kids were still at the picture book stage (although I do not doubt that it would be enjoyable at any age).
Only problem is, it's another prominent example of people misusing the name "Frankenstein" to describe "Frankenstein's monster." Growl.
