LAst Night's Action: Lakers Smoked, Cancel Next Game

Kobe opts to pass because of that whole triple-team thing.Jazz 102, Lakers 81 - This game looked bad on the scoreboard but it was even worse on the court. Los Angeles was 3-of-19 in the first quarter, and Kobe missed his first eight shots overall. They were down 21 at halftime. By the final buzzer, three different Utah players reached double-digits in rebounds. Fortunately, it's just the preseason ... A bad omen of things to come, Lamar Odom is out for a little longer due to shoulder problems ... The Lakers and Jazz were scheduled to play Thursday night in San Diego, but the game was canceled due to the fires.

Blues 4, Ducks 2 - A familiar face did the damage against Anaheim. Longtime Duck Paul Kariya netted a goal and three assists. Anaheim has been struggling on the road all season.

Kings 6, Predators 0 - Jason LaBarbera only needed to block 17 shots to earn his second career shutout. Nashville is looking like one of the worst teams in the league this year, and Los Angeles took advantage by scoring on over 30% of their shots. Get the inside scoop from Eric Locko.

Elsewhere - George Will always paired politics and baseball, but Rudy Giuliani is ruffling some feathers in Yankee-land ... Dallas Cowboys discover the bubble hasn't burst in online real estate ... This is why Los Angeles no longer has a pro football team ... At least we have NFL highlights. Devin Hester is ridiculous.

Today's Action - Sacramento @ Clippers (7:30pm) ... The All American Football League is gaining steam. Eric Crouch will be on 570AM today at 3:05pm to talk about it. We hope they ask what the chances are of LA getting a team.
