Interpol the international police organization is everywhere (186 member countries), even though you never really take notice of them. So it’s fitting that the post-punk rock band of the same name has reached similar ubiquitous status, though dipping still ever so slightly below the radar. But now it appears the secret is out.
Ever since Interpol announced the release of Our Love to Admire in May, they’ve been scouring the world, touring virtually non-stop. Apparently the world has taken notice, helping them reach #4 on the US Billboard album charts and #2 on the UK Billboard album charts following the August release date. After this latest two-month stint in North America, they’ve saved the best for last, concluding this portion of their tour here next Tuesday, October 23 with Liars at the Forum before heading back across the Atlantic to conquer Europe.
With Interpol’s legion of loyal fans growing by the day, we’re doing our part to make sure everyone gets familiar with their music. We’ve got a pair of tickets to give away to the show, because really where else would you rather be on Tuesday night than rockin’ out to “The Heinrich Maneuver.”
Since Interpol got their start in the New York indie scene, tell us the best single thing you think that New York has contributed to this wonderful country we live in (whether Interpol or New York-style pizza). Post your answer in the comments section (and remember that LAist no longer accepts guest comments so you have to register). Entries must be received by tomorrow at 5 pm, when we’ll pick one of the entrants randomly.

Forget going green with hyrbid cars and and electric mobiles, try using your damn feet in LA and it'll take you 30 minutes to get down the street - oh what's that? You have to use the crosswalks or the cops will write you a ticket?
Unbelievable
