At City Hall today: Traffic, Parking & The Iraq War

Los Angeles City HallCityWatch is reporting that today is quite a busy day at 200 N. Main St. Here are some highlights for the mayor and city council:

  • "The Mayor and the Governor open the action with the announcement at a 9:30 media conference that LA will receive $150 million to pay for synchronizing every traffic light in the city. The funding is LA’s share of the $250 billion transportation bond passed by voters in 2006."
  • "With time running out for the Council to take action, former Transportation GM Gloria Jeff’s appeal of her firing by the Mayor is back on the calendar. Insiders say: look for a deal."
  • "A Bill Rosendahl resolution to pull US troops out of Iraq and a report on the status of LA’s bridges and tunnels."
  • "...the PLUM [Planning and Land Use committee] folks are due to take up the Planning Commissions’ draft resolution on ‘reduced parking.’ Another hot button subject among Angelenos. (PLUM Committee is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Room 350 at City Hall.)"
