Drew Carey: 'I'd love to own a freeway in Los Angeles'

He plays the part on TV but Drew Carey is not all games all the time. The host of both The Price is Right and Power of 10, Carey moonlights as one of Hollywood's most visible Libertarians (see also: Clint Eastwood, Trey Parker, Jason Reitman). Starting today, he's taking it broadband via the Reason Foundation's new online video channel "for free minds and free markets," Reason.tv.

"We need Reason to help fight the stupid drug laws, the stupid immigration laws, and stupid big government in general," says Carey, whose likeness is also available as a Cleveland Indians bobblehead doll.

For Reason's first online journalism vid, Carey examines the all-to-familiar traffic hell we call Los Angeles and ponders the privatization of new freeways and express lanes. Check it out. It's far more entertaining than watching game show hosts shill for, say, spay/neuter clinics (sorry, Bob).

jesus fucking christ, why don't you just change the name of the site to LibertarianIST.com and put to bed any pretense that you're actually interested in covering Los Angeles without a weak agenda.

The problem with L.A. driving is the drivers who aren't from L.A. (including Mr. Carey). Go back to where you came from and we'll be just fine, thank you.
