I've learned my lesson.
I'll never make the mistake of expressing my opinion at the LAist site again. My apologies.

And, Tony, I have been a Cubs fan for nearly 25 years...

if bartman didnt cost the cubs the series why does he hide in shame, why does he fear for his life, why would any cubfan be elevated to hero if they brought him to justice?

god i hate non cub fans talking about my team

its true the bartman incident didnt cost them the series. it's first in a string of incidents that might have sealed it for the cubs if they had gone the other way. to be honest, i dont think alou could have caught the ball.

but i also know that jimmy realizes that bartman wasn't the reason the cubs lost in 03. anyone who thinks that doesnt know whats going on.

its similar to the buckner ball. a little different in that the player made the mistake - but it was still game 6. the red sox lost game 7 all on their own.

Did I even say that Bartman cost the Cubs? No. I just referred that play as such because it's far more succinct than saying, "the foul ball that Moises Alou didn't catch that might have led the Cubs into the world series." Douche. See? That saves me 17 words!

Yawn. Yet another blog pushing misinformation about Bartman costing the Cubs a trip to the World Series in 2003.
It was Alex Gonzalez - not Steve Bartman - who bobbled a routine double play ball to keep the Marlins alive in game 6.
It was Dusty Baker - not Steve Bartman - who didn't leave the dugout to calm down Mark Prior after he got rattled in game six.
The Cubs were WINNING in game seven by two runs and had Kerry Wood on the mound - not Steve Bartman.

The Cubs need to win tonight to have any hopes of taking the series from the D-Backs.

Eamus Catuli!

GO SOX! See you in Anaheim on Sunday, where the Sox fans will once again drown out whatever one can possibly call "angel nation" ... hahaha.

Sox in 3.

I should have added that I don't like the Angels either. It was so bad that I almost rooted for the Giants in 2002.

Lets go Red Sox!
One game down, two to go.

Going to the Big A on Sunday and Monday (if necessary).
I've got to agree with Guest, Angels fans are terrible worst support even when their team is good.

Cheers & beers!

"Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely hate the Red Sox. I can’t stand this team or the city. They’re a bunch of whining pussies"

Huh? Kind of a weird statement. The most deplorable stadium and fan base IMHO is the Angel's. Showing up in the 3rd and leaving in the 7th, absolutely zero knowledge of the game, fighting kids for foul balls, worst in the MLB.
