Win Hollywood Bowl Arcade Fire Tickets!

Arcade FireHere at LAist, we are no strangers to Arcade Fire. And that's why we are happy to being giving away a pair of tickets to next Thursday's concert at the Hollywood Bowl! Yes, you!

All ya gotta do is comment (as a registered user, not a guest) on this post by end of Monday night saying what alcoholic drink you prefer at the Bowl: wine or beer (or, if you must, be as creative as you want with the spirits). Comments fulfilling the requirements will be chosen at random and the winner will be contacted on Tuesday.

definitely Wine. preferably some cheap barefoot, in plastic cups... with some farmers market strawberries... sounds like the perfect night to me.

A nice australian or california shiraz

a chilled box of Target brand wine

Hello. Sober guy here, gotta go with water on this one.

Although normally I'd go for wine, I snuck in some sake for the Radiohead show a few years back. Was an interesting experience.

Gotta go grape over the grain at the Bowl. It goes along with the pretending to be cultured thing.

Wine, of course. It's the perfect buzz to have at the Bowl as evening falls.

Plus, I don't want to have to get up to pee every 20 minutes.

Wine all the way. I'd go for a tempranillo-grenache blend. A great late summer wine.

I'm gonna have to go with champagne and orange juice for optional mimosas.

for the arcade fire, I'd drink a belgian beer.

I think wine is more fitting for the bowl environment... or jägermeister :)

I saw NIN at the bowl with QOTSA and Autolux a while back. They sold me a 25 dollar bottle of 5 dollar Trader Joe's Merlot. It was worth every penny.

Wine. brunello di moltacino! 2003. biondi-santi.

only because thats the only bottle i have in my house right now...

gotta save up for that 13 dollar parking!

user-pic

um, both?! including whatever extras our typically awesome neighbors want to unload on us.

Sparkling water... is this contest biased against people who don't drink alcohol?

no bias at all bunzers. You are included in the random drawing as well as others who go sober style.

Water is the spirit of life!

a 12 pack of ice cold pabst blue ribbon always gets me going at the bowl.

definitely gotta go with wine.

The thing is, carrying a cooler full of ice is a pain in the ass. So you're limited to things that don't suffer from being drunk at room temperature. So it's red wine or a real good sweet beer like an oldstock.

Ok Zach, maybe the third time's a charm. I'd say Happy Syrah on this one. You know, the one at Trader Joe's with the happy face on it. Especially for Arcade Fire. I'd be a really happy syrah if I win this one!!!

stoli rocks, at the bowl, and anywhere else.

Definitely a four-pack of beugel shaped bottles of Grolsch. :)

A smooth Red wine, probably a cuvee, or a classic: the Moscow Mule.

In honor of the band ([em]and my desire to win the tickets[/em]), shouldn't we be drinking Molons or Labatt's?

booze fruit salad is perfect for the bowl. recipie:

various fruit - watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew - cubed.
1/2 bottle good-ish vodka

mix ingredients in bowl. let sit for 24-48 hours.

pack to bowl. eat fruit, drink boozy fruit liquid. forget how to see.

stella artois because it's the official beer of hipsters!

Obvi, Pimm's Cups. But I'll settle from swigging vodka from a bottle and chasing it with white wine.

aww, screw pretending to be cultured! beer, cold, is best for summer nights and therefore worth lugging the cooler. racer 5 ipa... mmm!

a bottle of champers for me! maybe not the whole bottle, though. i really like arcade fire and would want to stay awake for the show.

mmmm... after beer tasting at the fair yesterday I have to go for a few pints of Pt. Fermins Pale. That said, I will never turn down a $3 bottle of Pinot Grigio, either... guess I'm a cheap date

Definitely beer. At John Williams I had Stone Vertical Epic!

Wine, but I'd love to bring in a lambrusco--the sparking reds have made my summer much nicer!

champagne! nothing but class for the bowl.

Beer, Magic Hat #9. East Coast.

whatever's on special in the wine aisle at trader joe's -- though i'm partial to reds.

Definitely red wine. One bottle from home, and another bought there after I realize that one bottle just ain't enough.

i'm not fancy, gimmie cheap beer.

i'll bring a flask with some whiskey to keep myself entertained.

wine...lots and lots of bottles of wine!

i promise to rock the house and bring lots of fresh juice.

and maby some 100 proof rubbing alchohol

Wine. Red wine. 'Cuz I'm sophisticated and s***.

i just moved to LA and haven't been to the Hollywood Bowl yet...i won't be picky about beverages and just get drunk on arcade fire!

Every time I lie down to go to sleep, I am overwhelmed by worries. It is as if there are these worry molecules in my toes just waiting for me to go horizontal, so they can be freed of gravity's weight and drift effortlessly toward my defenseless brain. Please rid me of these worries by giving me the tickets.

My drink of choice AT is red wine and occasionally champagne!!!

my car died, i was recently fired and i think my girlfriend is cheating on me.

choice drink? the stronger the better.

Wine! (Good for me, not so good for those sitting in front of / below me after a few bottles! Sorry 'bout the sweater, man!)

ilovemytydywydy, you never said what drink of choice you would bring to the Bowl. Therefore, you don't have a chance yet. Try again!

wine? beer?
eh.

i'm more of a caipirinha / white russian kinda guy.

I'm waiting until the Bright Eyes show to bring whine.

For The Arcade Fire: Beer. For sure. Beer is the rock n roll beverage.

I will be taking a few bottles of Three Philosophers beer, along with some ice cream with mangos on top.

red wine! goes best with the picnic dinner.

I have to choose between wine & beer? My Bowl survival kit includes at least one bottle of Chimay belgian beer and a bottle of red wine. Sometimes I even share it with other people.

Wine. Definitley wine. My bladder is freakishly small and I don't wanna miss any of the show making beer expelling trips to the men's room!

As many bottles of Ravenswood Vintner's blend as I can carry! I'm partial to the Zin, Cab Sav and Shiraz but if you hook a sista up I'll bring you a bottle of water ever tickles your fancy!

I have always been one for beer. But there is something to be said for having a bottle of wine opened before a great musical act in one of the premier LA spots. Wine.

Gotta go with a bottle of wine! I'm thinking a bottle of "7 Deadly Zins"...mmmmm.....

I get out of prison tomorrow. Should I win tix to the show, I will be bringing the Pruno I made in my cell toilet.

Made with fruit, sugar, and ketchup, my Pruno has been brewing for a week.

It's so strong, every time I drink it I go back in time. I've had conversations with my man William Shakespeare while on the Pruno, as well as high fived George Washington Carver!

Maybe it doesn't matter that I win tickets. I won't remember the show.

Huzzah.

Ghetto Cocktail:

One half drank King Cobra forty.

One 12 oz. minute maid orange juice.

mix and shake and drink.

as long as there's booze, it don't matter

I would have to say the most fantastic of all so-called girly-drinks: the Amaretto Sour!

This beloved standby has never failed me, and everyone I know who has tried it has loved it! Perfect for the sublime Arcade Fire at the Bowl...a warm blend of sweet and sour that tastes like nothing else and is an experience you want to re-visit again and again .

Stella... In a beer helmet.

am i too late? sella all the way

I want a real mojito mixed in Cuba with Cuban rum and sugar, then magically teleported here. No mojito I've tasted on the continent tastes as good.

and in just at the buzzer!

...any type of hefeweizen in large quantities.

yummy big huge cans of japanese beer, but I put it in a paper bag as to not make all the wine drinkers jealous of my refreshing japanese hops. you heard!!!

wine, and if you forget to bring some, the prices at the wine store at the hollywood bowl are very reasonable.

I prefer to bring some cold refreshing beer (like Red Stripe or Dos Equis) and a flask of Glenlivet. Now pick me!

$4 reggiano lambrusco from trader joes!

anything that may get passed. i also love to bring drinks (unopened bottles of water, wine etc) and pass them down the line.

now i finally have a profile so i can take credit for sharing (above)
