Hello Cleveland? Village Voice Media Needs Help

LA Weak-ly -- Cleveland, we have a problem

The LA Weekly has been struggling to placate its staff ever since the alt-weekly's publisher, Village Voice Media was swallowed up by not-so-alternative New Times Newspapers nearly two years ago (New Times adopted the VVM name, but not necessarily the flavor). If you haven't witnessed the shift in ideology and coverage in the pages of the Weekly yet, a drastic dip in content quantity -- if not quality -- seems imminent, as the New Times transition comes to a tumultuous head.

Nearly half of LA Weekly's staff writers (as listed on the online masthead) recently resigned, according to LA Observed.

VVM must be on a mad hunt to replenish The Weekly with skilled staffers to fill in the blanks between the medical marijuana, lipo, and g-spot amplification ads. But go ahead and click the "Jobs at LA Weekly" link, and...

Honest mistake or a nasty prank by a disgruntled current or former employee?
