<description>&lt;p&gt;Sh*t happens. I have been here 12 years and only one quake made me want to pack everything up.  Just learn and trot out this Angeleno adage when applicable: &quot;I&apos;d rather die in a quake than die from having a heartattack while shoveling snow&quot;

Get a quake kit together and hang tough. Have water and sturdy shoes under the bed at least. Angelenos are made of tough stuff, we take mountain lions, quakes, flash floods, gang violence and killer traffic in stride..... although rain makes us cry.
