Welcome to my world last Friday and Monday! Ugh... I went to a friend's house Monday night cause I couldn't even breathe without the fan. And last night I went grocery shopping to replace half the stuff in my fridge. :(

Too bad we don't all have the clout that Steve Lopez of the L A Times does. In his column today, he tells of how furious he was to have a blackout, he called and got back almost immediate calls from the head of DWP, David Nihay, and Eric Garcetti, Council President, who had taken the time to find out exactly what Lopez's problem was. But not satisfied with this, Lopez griped that Garcetti had power and hadn't invited him to switch houses, although he did invite Lopez to go and hang out at his place.

Seems if you just diss enough politicians long enough and threaten to ridicule them in the Times if they don't do what us average slobs have to sit on the phone for hours waiting for a testy customer "service" person to finally tell us, you'll be treated like royalty. Or a feared dictator.

Which seems what Steve is becoming these days. Chill now that your power is back on, bro.
