That faint murmur you heard this morning weren't boos. It was three guys quietly saying "Bruuuuuce" to themselves as they heard that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will return to LA on Oct. 28 to a venue to be named later.
The Boss has seem out of sorts since Born in the USA, churning out mopey, cheesy middle of the road forgetables. Even the 9/11-inspired The Rising didn't hold a candle to his earlier works, so it was nice to hear the new single "Radio Nowhere" get back to the roots of his glory days.
"Radio Nowhere," comes off the band's forthcoming album Magic which will is due out October 2nd.
In a fascinating marketing move, Magic is currently available as a pre-order on iTunes for just $8.99, dramatically cheaper than the $12.99 pre-order price on Amazon. Also iTunes is currently letting people download "Radio Nowhere" for free.
Springsteen is right to boldly get his new music out there fast and cheap if he believes in it. Which it looks like he does.
Full tourdates so far after the jump, so big man if you please...

Bonus Single Review
After careful consideration, "Radio Nowhere" reminds us of two great songs,
Elvis Costello's "Radio Radio"
and Dinosaur Jr.'s - "Out There"
a little
