LAst Night's Action: Footies In Fisticuffs

Nobody messes with the Beckham.Chivas USA 3, Galaxy 0 - It looks like the British are in a fighting mood. After being tackled hard from behind, Beckham yelled at Jesse Marsch, his attacker (err, actually defender ... no, make that midfielder). That turned into a shoving match between the teams, which grew into a full on scrap involving at least one solid punch and a nasty headbutt. Mr. Prettyboy Beckham wasn't involved in any of the physical altercations, though he did have to be pulled away from Marsch before things got really bad. When all the dust settled, Chivas USA defeated their stadium-mate. Beckham, Landon Donovan, and Jonathan Bornstein all played for the Galaxy despite having played matches in Europe the day before.

Dodgers 5, Phillies 2 - Los Angeles is looking less anemic, winning six of eight and finally providing some run support for Chad Billingsly. The Dodger's starter allowed one run over seven strong innings, and scored one himself after being walked in the fifth.

Blue Jays 5, Angels 4 -Much like Anaheim has the Yankee's number, Toronto has Anaheim's. For the fourth year in a row, the Blue Jays took the season series. A pair of solo dingers by Vladimir Guerrero wasn't enough, as Ervin Santana was ripped for five runs in six innings.

Elsewhere - Like Avenue Q, this guy wanted to go back to college. He did. And played football. At age 59 ... LAist Tim found good news about American Gladiators and not-so-good news about Derek Jeter.

Today's Action - The IAAF Track and Field Worlds start today in Osaka ... Dodgers @ New York Mets (4:10pm) ... Toronto @ Angels (7:05pm).

Needed correction: Bornstein does not play for the Galaxy, he plays for Chivas. Plus Bornstein did not play last night.

im here also to say that J Bornstein plays for Chivas and did not play in this game.

im also here to say that Chivas rules and its too bad Beckham chose the wrong team.

The Toronto Blue Jays have thousands of fans all over the world. Here, I may consider myself as one of the big fans of this wonderful team. Whenever I’ve time I try to attend their games, though sometimes it becomes a little difficult to get Blue Jays tickets and this is due to these great fans that the team has. Toronto Blue Jays tickets are a little pricy or hard to be found but the team, as a professional and essential team of MLB, worth any price to watch their games. And when we love a team we try as much as possible these financial obstacles.
