Sarah, lovin your ardent defense of Mr. Jessica Biel. And I have to concur, he gets a bad rap because he was NSYNC, but he's about as cutting edge as anyone in today's pop scene. His shrilly voice can grate sometimes, but I'm not gonna hate - the boy has talent.

If you're next to someone bumping their music at an intersection, you're stuck there for a minute at most. Oh, the horror! Stop crying and deal with it. It's one fucking minute. However, if you're playing music of questionable taste at loud volumes, don't be surprised when people look at you like you're retarded. Blasting Rubber Soul will ellicit a very different response from blasting Trapped in the Closet.

Shit, West Coast gangsta rap, with it's booming bass lines, was born out of the LA tradition of rolling around with your music on high. I generally don't mind other people listening to loud music in their cars because I do it myself, usually on the beautiful sunny afternoons as described above. However, I also drive a Bug and the egg shape amplifies *everything* [think of the domed part of the Hollywood Bowl], so I keep it down in everyday traffic and save the blasting for cruising around on weekends.

The only people who roll down their windows and put their stereo system on blast for the whole of Los Angeles to hear are the ones who want attention. Why should I be subjected to what you're listening, whether you have great taste or not? You share the road with thousands of people, I don't think any of them are interested in having their own personal dj in the middle of the 405 while they have other things on their mind. If you want to blast your music, do it in your own house on your own time or do it with your windows rolled up, in your own personal space. The highway is not your dance floor.

I think you must be joking- come on, Justin Timberlake? I dont know who UBK is but I guess I can fill in the blanks. I'll pretend youre not for a moment(really just to give myself the satisfaction of putting in my two cents!) If the bass was making your car shake, the other cars felt the shaking. Guaranteed. Thats why it was so obnoxious. Yes, I enjoy blasting my music and screaming along to Patsy Cline or Fiona Apple. But I close my windows and turn it down when stopped in traffic or at a light. Or on a residential street late at night- its just common courtesy.

People always seem to underestimate the volume of their own music, and then are shocked to find it disturbs others. I'm with those who hate listening to other people's music, no matter what it is. I would go so far as to alert the authorities that there was a driver who prided herself on listening to Justin Timberlake on full-volume. I don't do that kind of thing, but no, it's not offensive to me. What is are those idiots that turn it up so high your car is vibrating and it's giving you a headache..and they're a couple of cars behind you. Once I was driving around in Fullerton and this happened...I went way over the speed limit and almost ran a few lights trying to escape that car because it was painful and deafening to even be anywhere near it.
