Swing at a pitch and having the bat slip out of your hands and hitting a spectator is totally different than running up to the mound with a bat and swinging away. Offerman should be arrested and banned. Throw in some anger management therapy for good measures.

As a native Bridgeporter, I am loving the fact that we are getting some national attention. Who cares if it was a result of a washed up baseball player getting arrested for hitting a pitcher with a bat. The last time we had this kind of attention, P.T. Barnum was our mayor.

My dad was at the game and he said, earlier in the game Carl Everett, yes that Carl Everett, hit someone in the crowd with a bat when he swung and missed the bat slipped out of his hands. Crazy Carl, however, was not arrested.

Washed up baseball players, bats and Bridgeport don't go together so well.
