LAst Night's Action: Beckham Watch Wait

Maybe a guy with an ankle injury should tie his shoes.Cardinals 12, Dodgers 2 - At least the Dodgers took the first game from St. Louis. They were hammered in the rubber game, as Mark Hendrickson allowed eight runs on 11 hits in just 2 and 2/3 innings. Andre Ethier was the only Dodger holding up the offense, with a double, triple, and RBI.

Angels 6, Twins 2 - The Angels shut down Minnesota in three straight games this weekend. Jared Weaver lasted 7.1 innings on Sunday, allowing two runs on five hits. Chone Figgens and Jeff Mathis both went yard.

Revolution 1, Galaxy 0 - Taylor Twellman scored a spinning goal for the Revolution to earn the win. David Beckham, not even listed as a possible substitute, was booed for not playing in New England. There was some irony in the fact that Gillette Stadium is named after the company that helped make him so popular in Europe. Yahoo! Sports summed it up nicely: "Pop Idle." He should play on Wednesday against DC United in SuperLiga action.

Sparks 89, Lynx 80 - Minnesota is the only team in the WNBA with a worse record than Los Angeles, so the Sparks took advantage to earn one of their only wins in recent memory.

Elsewhere - Steve Nash cross trains with soccer ... German soccer player shaves team logo into his nether region (NSFW) ... American becomes first player to ever fail drug test in Japan. It was a hair growth pill.
