I was in that mess for 8 hours and LAX didnt update their passengers getting to the airpoart on what was going on, luckily i was in the terminal. At one point an Alaska airline attendent said over the intercom "Who wants to go to portland?", it was very disorganized. I feel real bad for those sitting in the planes for that long.

LAX is a third world country. Unbelievable. How can you not have a back-up system that works as well as the main one.

I feel really safe... about booking my next flight out of BUR.

I was stuck in this. Have the photos to prove it. Landed at 2PM after a 12 hour flight. Then, sat on tarmac until 5:30, waited in a holding room until 7, and stood in the immigration line until 8. At least my bag was there.

Hm. Who wants to bet what OS that system is running?

(I've seen many a Microsoft "blue-screen-of-death" on the flight monitoring systems and automated check-in devices)
