The jury in the Phil Spector trial took a field trip to his home in Alhambra today. Only one member of the media -- Linda Deutsch of the AP -- was allowed in. Everyone else set up camp down the street and waited until she came out with her report.

Finally, Linda Deutsch arrives. Note, she's got two different colored pens. This is how the professionals do it, people.

Mostly she said the jury walked around and looked at stuff, including 14 photos -- death photos, bloody photos, Linda said -- that the prosecution positioned in the foyer and bathroom. Four or five male jurors sat in a chair, a replica of the original, where Lana Clarkson's body was discovered. They listened to the splashing of the fountain in the courtyard. An Alhambra Police Department Crown Vic stood in for Spector's old Mercedes; at least one juror sat where the driver would have been when he heard the shot. Phil Spector and his wife were there the whole time, Spector in a long-sleeved blue t-shirt, thick-soled sandals and sweatpants. Oh yeah.

Los Angeles Times reporter Peter Hong was, at one point this week, going to be the second reporter on the tour of Spector's house. The second reporter got nixed, however, so Peter was in the media pen with the rest of us.
