LAist believes that jury duty can actually be a worthwhile and interesting insight into the workings of this country's judicial system. LAist also believes that Brad Pitt is a worthwhile and interesting insight into the workings of this country's ability to produce magnificent manflesh. Lucky for us the two have finally come together: TMZ is reporting that Brad Pitt has shown up for jury duty today in Los Angeles:
Brad arrived to court in a chauffeured SUV and was allowed to park in the employee lot. He's wearing a white t-shirt, dark jeans and a cool black cap. Pitt brought a book with him -- maybe it's "First Wives Club." He was ushered to a private room, where he waited until he went to the jury assembly room for orientation along with other would-be jurors. Brad was even spotted wearing a juror badge -- yeah, he looks good in that too. When the potential jurors broke for lunch -- still not knowing their fate -- Brad stayed behind in private room and had someone bring him lunch from Subway. Eat fresh, hunk!
LAist wants to disapprove of the special celebrity treatment he is getting, but come on: I don't care what age, sex, race, or religion you are, if Brad Pitt plonked himself down next to you while you were waiting for your name to get called at some courthouse, you would sexually assault him. You would. Brad Pitt is the great equalizer of mankind and may be the only hope for true justice in this crazy, mixed-up world of ours. The only way things could get any better is if he was assigned to Nicole Richie's DUI case.

Damn, I finally get out of the courthouse and Brad Pitt shows up!
i am surprised he didn't just throw the letter out. i figured thats what celebrities do. maybe he should have.
Dang. when I had jury duty last month the best celeb I got in the pool Peri Gilpen (from "Frasier").
I had jury duty last year. And the first day i was there Eva Longoria was there and i sat next to her and chatted it up for a little bit. but she was excused before any of us got assigned to courtrooms.
And the next day a woman jumped off the roof of the courthouse. http://laist.com/2006/11/03/suicide_at_the_la_court_house_underreported.php
Gotta Love LA. ;)
