Guitar Hero Tournament at Sacred Fools Theater This Saturday

this kid will rock your face

So you've mastered the opening riff of "Crazy on You," you've beaten "Freebird" on Expert, and you can even get through "Miserlou" and "Jordan" without fucking up too badly. Do you think you're ready for the next level? Do you think you have what it takes to pit your star-powered skills against the city's best axe-men and -women? Are you...a GUITAR HERO???

Well, if you are, Sacred Fools Theater is holding their second city-wide Guitar Hero: Foolish Frets Contest on Saturday, August 11th, starting around 2:00pm. It's a cool twenty bucks to enter, and it'll cost general audience members $5 to watch and cheer on their very own Pandora or Axel Steel. (Beer and snacks will be on sale.) The contest is sponsored by Red Octane, and the lucky winner will take home $200 in prize money - and the right to call themselves Los Angeles's very own GUITAR GOD. Second place gets a brand new copy of Guitar Hero: Rocks the Eighties, and third place gets free entrance into the next tournament.

Get on over to their website and sign up to join the mailing list for updates; registration for the event begins on Saturday at about noon. Players are encouraged to bring their own guitar controllers, and players will compete against each other on Expert Level only, but there will be a separate Novice Tournament for us kiddies. All proceeds go towards supporting the Sacred Fools Theater Company.
