Ron Paul Delivers the Best Moment in the GOP Debates

The most popular story on reddit yesterday and this morning was this blast from Texas Congressman Ron Paul who denounced the continued, failed practice of the United States to involve ourselves in unconstitutional, undeclared wars.

After waving off Mitt Romney who tried to interrupt his roll by asking "what about 9/11?", Paul said that he was in Vietnam for five years and saw how pulling out of there did not end in disaster, neither would leaving a country that did not attack us. He concluded that we can achieve much more, quicker, through peace. To which the audience at a university in Iowa wildly applauded.

Yes, MSM, Ron Paul appears to be playing well in Des Moines.

Last week we accused the mainstream media of intentionally refusing Mr. Paul the air time that he deserved, despite his large grassroots support, one that is easily seen online through examples like his showing on reddit today, and we were pleased to see that Fox News had the presidential hopeful in their studios after the ABC debate.

That interview can be seen after the jump.

Thanks for the ACCURATE reporting on Ron Paul. Many hate him you know - they're afraid of his message and don't know how to contain him. You can't just contain him, because the American people are rallying around him. See how the media hates him at www.IHateRonPaul.com - "...they hate us for our FREDOMS!"

Yes, it was a great interview, but it does appear that the interviewer started out trying to make this another hit piece on Dr. Paul, using the 9/11 truther groups as a foil.

Of course, with Dr. Paul's characteristically thoughtful and intelligent answers, he won the interviewer over by the end, she pining for more time with him...LOL.

Ron Paul 2008

mitt looks like such loser up there with his fake, constrained teethy smirk. you can tell how bad he is at honest confrontation here as well as with the anti-obama poster debacle.

Show your support any and every way you can. Facebook anyone?

RP '08... spread it.

Ron Paul supporters are amazing at spamming yards and street corners and bumpers and clothing...they must have some intense computer software programs. Because everywhere I go I see RP supporters. I'd like to get a hold of this software and grow my business.

Ron Paul 2008!!

Just Come Home!! And guard our borders!!

Legalize Freedom for America!!

Ron Paul is the Man

He is not afraid to tell the truth

He won this thing hands down

Keep it up Ron Paul

Mitt Romney's "Have you forgotten about 9/11" comment shows how desperate and utterly defeated his agenda is. That Mitt had to sink so low as to use a blatant lie, a lie that has been discredited by the media and the neo-cons alike makes Mitt look really desperate. Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11.

He knew he was hearing truth up there and he knew that the majority of the audience was loving what they heard from Ron Paul. His face could not hide that.

The neocons have lost the arguments. They can only cheat their way to the nomination now.

I don't know the last time I've seen someone so reasonable on television. It's quite shocking actually.

I voted for Dr. Ron Paul when he ran the last time because I knew that he was and is a Statesman rather then a polititian. Please Dear God let us be successful this time or we can kiss our country goodbye.

The more I hear Ron Paul, and see him interviewed, the more that I find myself rooting for this, um, Republican. Instead of being all caught up in the tow-the-party-line bullshit, he has a logical and reasoned approach that, unfortunately, I don't think a lot of 'core' Republican primary voters are going to support. It seems that in order to get the GOP nomination, a candidate really has to trump up a lot of tired ideological social issues that, while important in practice, really have only a marginal level of importance in the grand scheme of things - like abortion. Without these hot button divisive issues, a lot of the dolts that supported Bush in the last 2 general elections won't be able to wrap their heads around a guy like Ron Paul. That is a sad thing, because among all of the polished, recycled candidates on both sides of the aisle, I am pleasingly surprised to find myself loving what Ron Paul has to say.

I hope that the people who vote in the GOP primaries can open their minds to a guy like Ron Paul, which will require them to deviate from the Fox News talking points, but which I think would be great for the country and might give the Republicans a chance at redemming themselves after the disastrous choice they made 7 years ago.

"A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for America"..Ponce

I am glad to see Ron Paul mention the "neocons" in the way that he did because that means that whe will do war on them.

As we all know the word neocon and the word Zionists go hand in hand.

It is time to place the American vote and government back into the hands of the American people once again.

I pray for Ron Paul.Let all pray for Ron Paul safety. It hard to find a honest politician like Ron.What he say is in consistency with what he did as politician in office.
Other politician on the debate match what the Elite want them to say and do.You know. They play more role as a puppet for the Elite.
When a politician lie on daily basis they forget how to speak the truth.
That my opinion.

...........booklet

Mitt, Clinton, Rudy, Obama, it does not matter. Unfortunately it took segregationist Governor Wallace to reveal the truth that "there's not a dime's worth of difference between" Republicans and Democrats. The Democrats willingly went along with the War in Iraq, suspension of Habeas Corpus, detaining protestors, banning books like "America Deceived' from Amazon, stealing private lands (Kelo decision), warrant-less wiretapping and refusing to investigate 9/11 properly. They are both guilty of treason.
Support Dr. Ron Paul and end this madness.

America Deceived (book)

The abortion issue was decided along time ago with Roe Vs Wade.

Please don't make that an issue now. We need this man in office to get our boys home and to restore Constitutional order.

This country is being run by the lame stream news and corrupt politicians and military contractors.

We need to save what we can before there is a real revolution.

Thats why we need a Ron Paul Revolution. I, for one, don't want to have to fight to get the rights that BushCo has taken away.

My husband and I are going to make signs and put them all around here.

BTW....this has got to be grassroots because the media is trying hard to limit him.

It's boots on the ground time armed only with signs and a strong message.

There are great videos of him on youtube as well as many, many, many supporters.

We have be like "The little train that could"

I think I can, I think I can and we can all do it together.

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step" sorry I can't remember who wrote that.

If you are against the war, do you realize that not a single mainstream democrat shares your opinion and/or is willing to do anything about it?

Obama/Hilary/Edwards are all completely locked into the idea that foreign wars are a good idea-- when in fact the great founders of this country knew that involvement in foreign entanglements, from wars to supporting pariah states or dictators, is not good for America.

Unlike some of the other RP supporters here, I have a bit of a different view of the media. Instead of believing the media to be intensely ideological, I find the media to be more condescending and belittling. The media sees itself as powerful, so it attempts to preserve its power by attempting to bait the people it interviews, luring them to say something damning to themselves or others. I support Ron Paul even more after this because he resisted the bait and answered the questions logically and with fact.

Well if you really want to see media bias- it doesn't get ANY more obvious than this..

http://digg.com/politics/ABC_news_misrepresents_Ron_Paul_supporters

check that out and tell me that's not media bias.

Yes, I am aware of this, and yes I am against war, period.

Thats why....WE...have to do this. This isn't about guns yet, it's about information.

If enough people, have Ron Paul for Pres on their cars, and others see our support of this man, they will take notice despite the lame stream news.

We know they (TV) lie, but others take it as gospel. I have actually heard of people saying if it's on tv, it's got to be true. God help us all.

These people, the elite, the rockafellas, or whoever they are have already taken over all of the world.
The United States.....US...are the only ones left to save the world.

I don't know about the rest of you/us but I am in...and toting weapons.

Lets hope it doesn't come to that....so for now..lets give every bit of support we can to Ron Paul and see if we can all save the world....

Support and signs first and maybe it won't come to a gun fight.

Why do I like Ron Paul? He's honest and overflowing with integrity! He's not "bought" by special interests. He understands what the founding fathers wanted and why they wanted it that way!

Rock on, Ron! You are truly America's only hope -

Sign me, an Oregonian for Ron Paul

As a WASP who attended Princeton and U of Chicago, but also knows something about boxing, I can assure you that Romney's rude interruptions (TWICE in a ROW!) speak even more loudly than the fact that his "Have you forgotten about 9/11?" remark had zero to do with Ron Paul's statement:

1) Even New YOAHHHKah Rudy waited until Ron finished his statement and THEN jumped in (like a kid who could just barely wait to go to the bathroom) and attacked him in SC. Alleged WASP, alleged Mo Mormon, alleged BYU graduate and alleged Hahvahd B-School and Law School Graduate Romney couldn't even hold it in, even in front of a Midwestern audience. In fact, if Rudy had done it, they'd have probably thought, "well, he's one of those PUSHY OBNOXIOUS New Yorkers" but they have no excuse for Romney, so he really hurt himself.
2) The question, then, is WHY he'd have done a stunt like that? CLEARLY it's because he's desperate, CLEARLY it's because he isn't anywhere NEAR 26% and Ron Paul isn't anywhere near as LOW as 2%. This is where boxing comes in handy. I can assure you that an Evander Holyfield would never NEED to sock someone in the groin and risk getting disqualified against a fighter if Holyfield were the top of the rankings and his opponent were next to bottom as Paul is alleged to be. A good boxer would only sock a GOOD boxer in the groin because he might lose the fight to the OTHER good boxer. Mitt may win Iowa, but Ron Paul is no way in next to last position, and Mitt tipped his hand and gave the ultimate 'tell' in doing what he did.

YEs! Yes! YES! RobertEdwardJ25..YOU are BRILLIANT! I saw the same thing...Romney was on the fake smiling attack against Ron Paul the ENTIRE DEBATE. That desperate "lets laugh at the other guy and make him look like clown" move. How presidential...so smooth, to "laugh" at Obama and make those tacky one-liners... I think the people watching a presidential debate on a sunday morning are more sophisticated than he thinks. Mitt is DESPERATE and AFRAID! Also, what is with showing Mrs. Romney over and over during the debate...nobody else up there had a wife??? SO biased...media SO biased.

Just a quick note: Ron Paul didn't go to Viet Nam. His statement was that he served 5 years, and he did, just not in VN.

I 100% support Ron Paul for president, but let's be careful to keep the facts straight. There are corrupt people looking for any opening to attack this campaign.

--Oregonian for Ron

We need to hope and pray that we don't have another JFK for trying to do the right thing for the USA ad it's people.
