Anonymous Guest:

fine then, of this list of so called writers in NYC or even LA, please show us anyone who wrote as many quality poems as Bukowski did, And busted with as many quality short stories that Bukowski did, AND didnt start writing novels until he was 50 only to reel off classics like the aforementioned Post Office, Women, and Factotum.

Odds are you can produce a list of either poets who wrote a few decent poems, or novelists who produced a good book or two, or an author with some decent collections of short stories,

but no one can compare to the trifecta of Mr. Bukowski.

so shove that in your bong and smoke it.

He is arguably the finest writer LA has known if you're arguing in a room of stoned 20-year-old olds who're drinking Samuel Adams and putting off their econ homework.

Los Angeles has known a lot of writers. Only NYC could compete with its roll call.

Tragic! There must be some historical society out there who can prevent someone from tearing this down.
