LAst Night's Action: Scoreless in Seattle

It's more afraid of you than you are of it.Seattle 2, Angels 0 - After piling up the runs against the Detroit, the Halos couldn't connect in Seattle. Kelvim Escobar pitched all eight innings with seven strikeouts in the loss. Appropriately, Ichiro Suzuki had three hits, a run, and an RBI on Japanese Baseball Night.

Rivalry Week - While LA develops a split personality disorder during that "other" rivalry week (Trojans-Bruins), the city unites in loathing of the San Francisco Giants whenever the ol' Gothams come to town. So what to expect over the next few days? Tuesday will feature a "major charitable announcement" by team owner Frank McCourt, according to the team's press office. Also, kids 14 and under will get a free pack of Topps baseball cards. Thursday's highlights include a free Russell Martin bobblehead doll to the first 50,000 fans and a steroid awareness clinic for little leaguers (it has nothing to do with Barry Bonds, honest!).

Elsewhere - What do you call a guy with no arms and no legs in a speedo? A triathlete ... Cheerleading camp turns into a brawl ... Can anybody translate Japanese? If so, maybe you can help us figure out what the announcers were saying when this batter struck out and got a home run on the same pitch. Note to catchers: tag 'em out!

Tonight's Action - Angels @ Seattle (7:00pm) ... San Francisco @ Dodgers (7:00pm) ... Sparks @ New York (4:30pm) ... Galaxy @ FC Dallas (5:00pm).
