"Stop the Madness" 1985 Anti-Drug Music Video

A teacher friend of mine recently mentioned she was preparing an 80s theme party for the graduating seniors of her school. I asked, "Why 80s?" She replied that the seniors were born in 1989 and thus, they were the very last high school class to be born in that decade. I just about spit my drink all over her. I'm aware that we all age, but it still surprises the bejeezus out of me once in while. Today's 4:20 video is dedicated to the class of '07 even though they may not remember, "Just Say No" or can recall Michael Jackson ever being cool or black.

"Stop the Madness" was a government-commissioned music video made in 1985 featuring the vocal stylings of New Edition, LaToya Jackson, Whitney Houston and many others, including First Lady Nancy Reagan. David Hasselhoff makes an appearance as himself in poster form and cameos include Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Kim Fields ("The Facts of Life") and Joe Penny ("Riptide").

This video and my last night's 20 year high school reunion is a reminder of just how goofy and sad the 80's were. Really.
