Win Tickets to INLAND EMPIRE DVD Screening with David Lynch

Win a chance to pick apart David Lynch's brainYou may think he’s a brilliant director, with Twin Peaks, The Elephant Man, and Mulholland Drive among his long list of film and TV projects, not to mention four Academy Award nominations. Or you may think he’s got a few screws loose with his strict adherence to transcendental meditation and the generally bizarre nature of his work. Whatever the case, you can’t deny that he’s interesting.

Now you get the chance to decide for yourself whether he’s fantastically creative, fantastically crazy, or a little of both. We’re giving away a pair of VIP tickets for next Wednesday’s DVD release party of his latest film, INLAND EMPIRE, at the Hammer Museum in Westwood. You’ll not only get to watch the director’s cut of the film, but also have a chance to hear David Lynch speak after the conclusion of the film. What he’ll speak about I’ll leave to your imagination.

In order to win, you need to tell us why you’re LA’s biggest David Lynch fan in twenty words or less (twenty is the number of minutes he practices TM, twice a day). The contest ends at Saturday at 4 pm. We’ll email the winner. But you have to be registered on LAist in order to win!

Less than 20 words: "You got me hotter than Georgia Asphalt."

I force new girlfriends to watch the Twin Peaks series in its entirety, so they will understand my compulsive allusions.

I own the French Special Edition of Mulholland Drive and told David about it. He was with cow.

I like the feeling of general confusion.

I lost a fist fight defending "The Grandmother" as a genius work of art

You mention Lynch's obsession with Transcendental Meditation.

Many critics consider Transcendental Meditation a cult led by the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. For an alternative view of the TM Movement, readers may be interested in checking out TM-Free Blog, TranceNet.net, or my personal web site, KnappFamilyCounseling.com where I discuss recovery from cultic relationships with Transcendental Meditation and similar groups.
