LAst Night's Action: On Second Thought

Only one moustache can win!Dodgers 10, Houston 2 - Los Angeles has been consistently inconsistent since the All Star break, and didn't show true dominance until going on the road. Chad Billingsly improved to 7-0 with a complete game, and even held the Astros scoreless until the final out. The Dodgers also looked good at the plate, with 3 RBIs from both Luis Gonzalez and James Loney. Jeff Kent (who scored on a wild pitch) had four hits before Ramon Martinez replaced him as a pinch runner. Martinez later singles, the Dodgers had a 5-5 night from 2nd base.

Athletics 12, Angels 6 - Bartolo Colon allowed four runs in the first frame, then left with an sore elbow and a 6-6 record. Unable to resist, the media's jokes just add insult to injury (Yahoo! Sports headline: " A's pound ailing Colon, rout Angels 12-6"). The bullpen didn't do him any favors, either, allowing runners to reach home in each of the next five innings.

Beckham Watch - Still struggling with his ankle injury, David Beckham probably won't play tonight when the Galaxy face Mexican champ Pachuca. While it's just a "friendly," don't expect Pachuca to show mercy to the struggling Galacticos. Maybe Becks should hide out in one of these places.

Elsewhere - Troy Polamalu has come a long way from eating dorm food at USC ... Matt Leinart may be far removed from the dorms, but he's still acting like a frat boy ... Maybe Matt can talk family values with Barry Bonds.

Tonight's Action - Dodgers @ Houston (5:00pm) ... Oakland @ Angels (7:00pm) ... Sparks @ Sacramento (7:00pm) ... Pachuca @ Galaxy (8:00pm).
