I have friends that did it with that company and the cost on the website are in line with what they are paying. Based on the $4k number, that breaks out to $222 a year. Heck, I pay that in car insurance over 3 months, so why not pay that for additional insurance for my child. There are worse ways to waste money if we never end up needing to use it.

The price can vary and individual doctors can advise other services. But if you have high risk in your family, it might be comforting to know that there are options like this out there.

Yeah - great, but their website says it's almost $4000 for the procedure and the first 18 years of storage fees. I had heard from friends who just recently had a baby that it's actually a lot more than that - over 10 grand. Not really a viable option yet for a lot of families.
