LAst Night's Action: 10,001 Reasons LA Is Better Than Philly
Dodgers 10, Phillies 3 - Imagine how good the Dodgers would be if Jason Schmidt were healthy. On Monday it was another All Star, Brad Penny, who notched his 11th win of the season and gave the Blue Crew their 5th in a row. Jeff Kent and Matt Kemp each contributed a three-run shot. The Phillies trailed by as many as nine en-route to their MLB leading 10,001st franchise loss.
Beckham Watch - There's drama in Beck's hamlet. With a lingering ankle injury, will he actually face Team Disney in his first scheduled first game as a Galaxy? And is that the right way to say it? It doesn't sound right. You can call somebody a Dodger or a Laker and it sounds good. But a Galaxy? Hmmm. We'd call him a Star, but that seems lame. Plus, there are teams called the Stars.
Elsewhere - Hey Bruins fans! Sunday is an open house at Pauley Pavilion to select your season tickets for UCLA hoops ... Forget Beckham and Posh Spice, the original athlete-diva marriage is producing some big bucks at auction ... Best. Baseball. Revenge. Story. Ever. ... Lance Armstrong to take on Floyd Landis in 100 mile race. If Lance wins, it may prove that one ball is better than a couple of shrunken ones ... The Brits just love streaking at the British Open ... The Aussies are tough as nails. Or teeth.
Tonight's Action - On the diamond, the Phils and Blew Crew continue their series at Chavez Ravine while the Halos head to Tampa to take on the Devil Rays ... The Galaxy will host Tigres UANL from Mexico, but Beckham won't be on the pitch until they play Chelsea on Saturday ... San Antonio will pay the Sparks a visit at Staples tonight ... It's day two of the Countrywide Classic at UCLA.

Galaxy fans call Galaxy players, "G's" or "Galacticos"

I say we call them "Galaxians".

they aren't Galaxians because that's the name of the inferior supporters group (15 people) in section 137. Don't confuse them with the almighty LA Riot Squad (300 people.)
