Dodgers 5, Giants 3 - The Dodgers have been enjoying this rivalry lately, dominating over the past couple years and sweeping the Giants this weekend in San Francisco. It helped that Barry Bonds is mired in one of the worst slumps of his career, going hitless in his last 20 at bats (22, if you count the All Star game). He also booted a ball in left field and later threw a tantrum in the laundry room. Brett Tomko improved to 2-7 and Takashi Saito threw a perfect 9th to earn his 24th save.
Rangers 5, Angels 4, 11 - Chone Figgins had three stolen bases to set the Halo's franchise record at 186. Former record holder Gary Pettis was coaching first base in the game for the Rangers. Figgens was also 3-for-4 and scored hit a tie breaking RBI single -- twice. That was the only good news for LAnaheim, who lost in extra innings on a homer by Texas' Mark Teixeira.

The 81st Countrywide Classic, formerly the Mercedes Benz Cup, starts today at the Los Angeles Tennis Center (fancy talk for UCLA's tennis courts). It's an ATP event and part of the USA Open Series, with over $1,000,000 on the line.
