Zune Presents Live At The BBQ: Los Angeles 07/12/07

E-40 Master of Slang

Thursday July 12, 2007 kicked off the first of three concerts being put on for free by Zune. Zune is a machine that can hold songs and videos, and even lets you share them with your buddies. The Concert was a daytime event centering around eating lots of things drenched in BBQ sauce while listening to some of the biggest rappers bust out for the crowd.

It was great!@#&*^@ The event was at the Los Angeles Historic State Park, and is a new park one or two blocks north of union station on North Spring, Downtown LA. The Live at the BBQ series will be headed to Chicago, and New York in the next few weeks.

Over 25 LAist-Exclusive pictures after the jump.

the cops were out in full force
There were more police and fire department there at one point than concert goers. These guys were just the tip of the iceberg.

The tent for the talent and media
The media and talent tent was a haven from the heat. They had all kinds of things to keep everyone cool, entertained, and hydrated.

BBQ Action
The had free BBQ for media and talent. Everything you could think of from plain rice, to tri-tip steaks.

zune-mobile
This thing was parked off to the side, and i am sure it would be cool to own it, but i doubt it would help anyone find a new girlfriend.

BBQ video game set up
They had X-box games set up in BBQ's to demostrate more of Microsofts power. Also there appears to be some kinda way to connect the Zune to the X-Box.

Zune kiosk
Big Tanky samples a Zune, and enjoys the large screen!

Win a tee-shirt
Dude's were lined up to shoot baskets and hoping to win a free Zune T-shirt.

Red Bull Bus
If redbull gives you wings, then they must of already broke off of that bus.

Sean Kingston
Sean Kingston is suicidal... suicidal... when you say it's o-verrr.

David Banner
David Banner was funny as hell, and doing interviews a mile a minute.

David Banner
They made all the talent sign these things.

DJ
interviewing with an affiliate from UGK.

The Crowd
Everyone was excited to be there, even though it was stupid hot outside.

E-40's DJ
E-40 and his crew blew up the spot.

Crowd
This crowd showed the rappers that LA truly does know how to show some love.

E-40
E-40, the man, the myth, the legend.

DAVID BANNER
It was hard to get pics of David Banner because he jumped into the crowd, and was unseen until his show ended. But cloaked in a blanket he demanded to have the golf cart taken through the crown too, this was him making the demands.

Big Tanky and Europe
My girlfriend, Big Tanky, made friends with a somalian model named Europe, who also had a boyfriend there being a media-monkey.

Surrounding area
Local artists must have anticipated being seen by the big crowd.

COMMON!!!
Common was another man who was hard to reach, but i did get a capture that shows off his style. Hehehe.
