Good Drink at Good Luck

Good Luck Drink.jpg

Blended drinks make me happy. They remind me of laying out on the beaches of Maui while soaking up the sun. The cold texture and gulping the last frothy bit from the glass are extra bonuses. A strawberry margarita is, hands down, my blended drink of choice. With that said, a well blended Good Luck drink from the Good Luck Bar in Los Feliz gives the strawberry margarita a run for its money.

A Good Luck drink is a blended mixture of Amaretto, Midori, milk, juice and ice served in a hurricane glass. The bartender throws in sometimes a lemon or a couple cherries and you’re good to go. I don’t know what to compare the taste to, except heaven. It’s so delicious you’ll sip down the first one in ten minutes, order another, guzzle that down and then be a good ways past buzzed. The bar provides other specialty drinks such as the Orange Bang, Pearl of Wisdom, Hong Kong Bong, Mai Tai, Gold Cobra, among a slew of others. As to what’s exactly in them, your guess is as good as mine, but I’m sure they’re all just as delicious.

I like the bar, but the Good Luck drink is what makes me return. On nights when I don’t feel like going out, my friend Mary G will call and say, “Hey, you want to get a Good Luck?” Even if I’m too tired, I’ll go every time. If you’re going on a first date, taking your other to the bar and ordering them a Good Luck is a guaranteed success. I’ve witnessed many a girl fawn over the guy that just ordered her the perfect cocktail.

I love the blue drink they have from the historic Yee Mee Loos.

those drinks do sound good- but still not worth the half hour it takes the pretty boy bartenders to realize theres someone standing at the bar. its ridiculous at that place!

must agree....great drinks/atmosphere, but some of the worst bartenders in town.

the bartenders are only bad on weekends! go during the week- no wait!

Oh they have some CRAZY Chinese liquor there that's NO JOKE... 2 kinds - I think one is rose flavored.

I've never been, but I'm intrigued - what's the average price of one of these concoctions?
