Protest Fox News and CBS Today For Condom Rights

Protest Fox News and CBS Today For Condom Rights and make them air the trojan ad

Last month CBS and Fox News refused to air a condom ad produced for Trojan condoms (which you can see after the jump). It's just a funny ad about pigs, men, and women. Oh, and our relationship with safer sex.

We understand why Fox would have its head up its ass in regard to cockblocking interesting and important advertising, but CBS? Here's what the Tiffany Network said of the spot "while we understand and appreciate the humor of this creative, we do not find it appropriate for our network even with late-night-only restrictions."

You know what's been America's #1 daytime drama for the past 18 years? A CBS show called The Young and the Restless.

What do you think these young and restless people are doing that makes them interesting enough for an hour long television show every day M-F? And CBS has the nerve to say that advertisements for a product that would help prevent disease and unwanted pregnancies due to the actions depicted in shows like the Young and the Restless are not appropriate?

Network, please.

According to this press release, there's going to be a protest today at CBS's Television City studios at 10am.

LOS ANGELES, July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), which operates the largest community-based alternative HIV and sexually transmitted disease (STD) testing program in California, conducting more that 15,000 tests annually, will spearhead a protest and press event Monday, July 9th, 2007 at 10:00 am in front of CBS Television's flagship Los Angeles studio compound-CBS Television City-(7800 Beverly Blvd., at Fairfax, Los Angeles, 90036) to denounce recent decisions by both CBS and FOX Television Network executives to refuse to broadcast a recent television advertisement for condoms.
Seems to us that the networks are granted the permission to operate the public airwaves, and if there's a public ill that can be minimized by something that would like to advertise on those airwaves, it should be allowed to since it helps the public.

What the hell is wrong with you, CBS?

Oh, by the way, good luck with Big Brother this year, you know the show where you put a big group of attractive people into a small house with booze and a hot tub and night vision cameras so you can capture them as they get it on.

A show where last season several young men throughout the season visited a small box and masturbated, deeming the box that usually held pool supplies, "The Jack Shack".

Hopefully the Trojan Man will be at the protest to help punctuate the network's hypocrisies.

Maybe it was the references to evolution that threw them?
