LAist is your source for local Obon Festival coverage. This photo essay includes highlights from the Obon Festival at Zenshuji Temple in Little Tokyo.
The Obon Festival still continues at the Zenshuji Buddhist Temple today from 11am to 8pm. You can get there easily by taking the Metro Subway to Union Station, then walk 3 blocks West from Alameda. The address is:
123 South Hewitt St.
Los Angeles, CA 90012
Pictures of the world-famous Zendeko Taiko Drum Troop after the jump!

I'm heading out to the festival today. Aren't the taiko drummers amazing? I'll try to get some live footage...possibly an interview.
Wow, those photos are amazing!
Great pics! What do you shoot with?
I shoot with a lowly Nikon D50 SLR. In this case I was using a Tamron 300mm lens (not the newest DSLR one which is an awesome lens).
Nice shots, HD.
After seeing your stuff, I found a schedule of upcoming obon fests around Socal. See you there?
