Live Earth: Live Online

It's 10 p.m. tomorrow night in Sydney -- where the hell are you?

The biggest international benefit concert since Live8 Live Aid of all time is ON. The 24-hour affair began around 10 p.m. PDT Friday and concludes late Saturday in Jersey.

And we must rock because... why?

Whelp... Al Gore said so. Yes, the former Veep who let some derelicts pickpocket his presidency before performing an Academy Award-winning PowerPoint presentation in An Inconvenient Truth is taking green global.

Why not turn "can rock 'n' roll save the world?" into a goddamn imperative and let's see if MSN can maintain the incredible audio/video streaming quality currently in effect.

Long gone are the days of Phil Collins taking advantage of the Concorde (r.i.p) to perform on two continents for, uh, charity.

And all your fave bands are comin' atcha -- from New York, Washington, D.C., London, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, Shanghai, Johannesburg, and Hamburg.

Live Earth is here. When you find something you like -- big screen it button.jpg

NOTE: The "watch live" clickthru demands an IE browser -- annoying, but in this case, I'll trade propriety for the live HQ stream.

I have sooo many issues with this event, but to begin with, Gore stole the name Live Earth without ever asking Geldof for some sort of consent. Calling it Live Earth is totally trying to make it seem its part of Live Aid or Live 8... and I bet most people would assume this. Just plain cheap.

And why the hell do we need a fucking concert to remind us of global warming? I'm all into limiting my carbon footprint, but this event is pure poseurville and will only alienate people from the cause.

But mostly, right now its that you cant watch the show Live unless you're using Windows Explorer. Thats so worldly of Bill Gates. Douchebag.
