Shall I dare say this? McG would have done a better job at this Movie. I would have rather seen a cheeseball retro spoof of Transformers ala Charlie's Angels. A more cartoon approach instead of a dire action drama. I would appreciate a movie that pokes fun at it's own rediculous original storyline. Just give me Optimus Prime breakdancing with that ghetto blaster and I am satisfied. Or better yet- just don't do it at all. The stakes are just too high.

I liked it, thought it was the perfect summer film. I can see how you might dislike it, but throwing around "racist" and "sexist" as your reasoning is unwarranted. Some people can find racism or sexism in the most regular and innocent of situations. I really didn't think it existed here. I grew up overseas and joking about language (like the "I don't speak spanish" bit, TOTALLY stolen from Anchorman) is a thing friends do. As for the streetwise hot-chick, how is that sexist? She's attractive and good with cars. I don't see it...

The film is crap pure and simple BUT it is entertaining for a summer movie. Personally, I'll just go back and rewatch Transformers ; The Movie instead of this one but hell, that's just me.

You're not alone. I hated it too, and thought is was stupid, boring and a waste of time.

Wow. People really shouldn't leave the house if all they're going to do is look for things to complain about. I grew up with the Transformers toys and cartoons, and when I first heard of the movie I was both extremely excited and skeptical. Michael Bay did an awesome job. Me and my buddy, both children of the 80's, came away completely satisfied with the movie. I'm mexican and even I didn't get offended at the whole 2-minute "no speaking spanish" scene in the movie. Nobody went to this movie expecting Oscar material, they came to be entertained. And at the end it was hugely entertaining. I find it amusing to read people "seriously" critiquing, an obviously not-so-serious film.

And I agree with the previous poster, we could have done without John Turturro's character.

C'mon, this movie was fine for what it was... If you go back and look at those cartoons, they were filled with cheese and bad jokes... 'Twas meant for kids. I had about 100+ Transformer toys, so I think I speak with some amount of 10-year-old-boy authority when I say that this movie could have been a lot worse. The interaction between the Autobots was amazing, and the Decepticons were truly frightening. The humans were, for the most part, a necessary facet, giving us perspective and something with which to relate...though John Turturro, who I love, really should have ended up on the cutting room floor...
As another 80's icon once sang, "Take it for what it is..." And if you can name that person, you get a cookie.

Probably an oversight, but Optimus Prime died in Transformers: The Movie, not an episode. :)
