My inner 10-year-old just had an amazing time at "Transformers", while my 26-year-old self took a break from worrying about plot-holes and decent acting. All said, it was everything I wanted it to be. Give reality a break for 2 hours and go enjoy yourself. But if alien robots aren't your thing, there are a few other options opening Friday.
Transformers - It isn't even the weekend and this movie has already brought in over 30 million. Be prepared for some records to be shattered. Say what you want about Michael Bay, but no one blows things up prettier than he does. Add to that a very enticing (read: Hot) Megan Fox and a charismatic Shia Lebeouf and they've convinced me to buy a 15-dollar Arclight ticket. Introducing the Dwights - Australian film about small family made up of washed-up and never-got-famous entertainers leading blue-collar lives.
Joshua - Taut thriller featuring the talented Sam Rockwell in his first "normal" role (he tends to lean towards weird characters: Hitchhikers guide, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Welcome to Collinwood). The uber-sexy Vera Farmiga plays his wife, dealing with a new baby and a son who may or may not be slaughtering things to get attention.
License to Wed - Why John Krasinski, why? You're part of the best comedy on TV (The Office). You have a unique wit, best put to use in a Christopher Guest film, or a movie involving Will Ferrell or Seth Rogen. But alas, you have chosen to stumble into your first feature length leading man role in the company of Robin Williams at his least funny. A movie about a priest deciding whether a couple can get married really gets me excited to go to the theater (yes, that was sarcasm).
Rescue Dawn - Two of my favorite actors, Christian Bale and Steve Zahn, team up for this story about imprisonment in, and escape from, a POW camp in Laos. Expect this to be stellar, as reported by LAist here.

Ya, I seen the movie. Saw many plot holes. I do give reality a break but when a movie this big, but some plot holes even bigger than the movie budget itself make me think that the movie is not excellent.
Well the director did a really good job in explosions and oh boy, he sure know how to make them look pretty and exciting.
The acting is not so bad. I like the actors and actresses a lot. Very promising!
Overall I think kids will love this movie period! Some adults probably love this movie because maybe these adults are once was the kids themselves and fall in love with Transformer cartoon.
