How does a team score two runs when a batter with two outs strikes out swinging?
Have the catcher misplay a splitter that travels to the backstop, the batter goes to first, and the following batter hit a 3-1 homer 430 feet.
In the bottom of the sixth with two outs and the score tied at one, James Loney did in fact strike out on a wild pitch by All-Star John Smoltz which allowed Loney to reach first base. Matt Kemp did in fact homer to the back of the Dodger bullpen that broke the game open for the Dodgers 3-1.
Once the Atlanta Braves went to the bullpen in the seventh, the Dodgers completely exploited them scoring five runs to put the game away. Even Brett Tomko couldn’t spoil the 8-2 victory despite giving up one run on three hits in the bottom of the ninth.
Since I gave myself the weekend off, I didn’t have a chance to give my sloppy wet kisses to My Boyfriend, Tubby and Game Over v.2.0 for making the All-Star roster. My Boyfriend showed his appreciation by hitting his first four-hit game of his career and extending his hitting streak to twelve games.
As of Saturday night’s game, the Dodgers have reached the half-way point of their season. At this rate they are looking to win 90 games. I will hesitantly say should get them at least a wild card berth in the playoffs. A lot of it will depend how well the Padres and D-Backs do. These three teams could win at least 90 games which just shows how strong the NL West is.
And goddamned it's as hot as a stinky armpit. Oof!

I'm starting to think they only win when I'm not there. I go Friday, they lose. I go Saturday, they lose. I stay home Sunday and watch it on TV with Dad, they win. I stay home last night because hand is too swollen to drive, they kick ass.
I'm going tonight and if they lose I'm really going to start to think I'm cursed. As if the line drive weren't bad enough.
