The Devil Wore Cavalli

a very smug mannequin

Yes, even obnoxious fashionistas will have to rub elbows with the masses for Roberto Cavalli’s new line created especially for trendy retailer H&M.

Known for combining rock and glamour, Cavalli has designed for such fashionable celebs as Beyonce, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Lopez, Lenny Kravitz, and Adrien Brody, as well as designing tour costumes for Christina Aguilera.

R Cavi’s line at H&M will be debuting November 8th, 2007 where he will be joining such esteemed company as Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf…and Madonna (whose tracksuits do not scream couture). I won’t even get into how her crone-like hands were supposedly airbrushed for the pics .

Anywho, Cavalli is well-known for his maximal approach to fashion, so expect lots of bright colors, appliqués, and sequins, perfect for the young, Juicy Couture-clad LA set.

The line will consist of 20 pieces of menswear and 25 pieces for women, including lingerie and accessories.

I’m sure there will be people camping out to score these pieces at some store locations. That’s cool and all, if you like standing aimlessly outside a store for hours texting your peeps who will be in more comfortable environs, but true fashionistas will just cop the designer duds on eBay.
