The L.A. Film Festival wraps up today with a gala screening of Danny Boyle's Sunshine at 7:00 p.m. at the Wadsworth Theatre. One hundred dollars will buy you a ticket to the screening and admission to the party afterwards (or you can wait until July 20th and see it when it opens wide).
The rest of the day is filled with screenings (no more free music or panels--boo!) There is a free screening, though, of I Have Never Forgotten You: The Life and Legacy of Simon Wiesenthal at noon at the Mann Festival. Other than that you can see the classic Them! also at noon at the Billy Wilder, Second Chance Season at 2:30 p.m. at the Mann Festival, Miracle Mile at 7:30 p.m. at the Italian Cultural Institute and a tribute screening of David Lynch's The Elephant Man at 8:00 p.m. at the Billy Wilder.
There are also several short film programs running today. At 11:00 a.m. you have a high school shorts program at the Italian Cultural Institute. At 12:30 p.m. you can see Don Hertzfeldt's Everything will be OK (along with 5 other shorts) at the Majestic Crest and at 7:30 you can see the winners of UCLA's Spotlight Awards also at the Majestic Crest. Today is the last day for the 2007 L.A. Film Festival so head out to Westwood early.
