We spent the past week in NYC gallivanting around on the subway system, gleefully reaching each destination in a timely manner and with minimal walking distance. Yes, we do ride the Red Line occasionally, however we would ride the Metro subway more often if it provided better access to all parts of the city.
We recently covered a citizens' initiative to further develop the LA subway system (Get LA Moving), but the ongoing political banter of city officials suggests that such dreams will never come to fruition. Until then we will waste hours of our lives sitting on the jam-packed, gridlocked Rapid bus.
Sigh.

Please... timely is not an adverb... please.
....or drive a car? it's not so bad.
Hey Guest #1! You're right! It isn't an adverb! You can identify parts of speech! Hooray! It's an adjective, and it appears to have been used correctly! Is that what you were trying to say? My faith in the American educational system is RESTORED!!!
If only subways were not racist for no obvious reasons.

One of the big things holding LA back is the lack of a decent transit system. Buses do not cut it as they have to deal with the same traffic. Why not just put the trolleys back where they used to be? It's only going to get worse. Cities need mass transit, cars as the main form of transit in dense metropolitan areas is dumb and unworkable. Widen the freeways all y. ou want - it's not addressing the need.
I agree, we need an actual subway that goes EVERYWHERE. Anybody see the obit today for the founder of Langers deli? He stated that one of the reasons they were able to stay in their orig location and in business at all was the red line stop opening up nearby. People need to be able to get around without sitting an hour in traffic.
