Raise Your Hand If You Left LACMA Thursday!

Long Lines at LACMAFor the second year in a row, LACMA has succeeded in having the hottest club event -- that is if you consider 2 hour waits to get in as 'hot.' If you RSVPed for Late Night at LACMA, you waited in a line that stretched from the museum entrance to Curson St. and around the corner. If you didn't RSVP, your line looked shorter, but waited longer as it stretched beyond Ogden Ave.

Upon arrival, it looked like the party scheduled to 3 a.m. was over. Hordes of people were leaving, frustrated after waiting in line for over an hour. At 10:45 p.m., people who had survived long enough to be half way to the museum entrance said they had been waiting for an hour and forty-five minutes.

"Two of my friends didn't RSVP and we felt bad just getting in without them. So we all waited in the no RSVP line for like an hour and then left," said another would-be attendee who did not have to fight the incredible parking mess since she lived across the street.

For us, we decided art and expensive drinks could wait for a regular day and headed eastward on Wilshire to the HMS Bounty for some cheap cold ones. If you missed LACMA on Thursday or just want to visit this weekend, they are offering free admission through tomorrow.
