Was the Silver Surfer Snaked from the Arclight?

where's the silver surfer

Either he learned a few tricks from the Invisible Woman or the Silver Surfer was swiped from out in front of the Cinerama Dome at the Arclight.

Hollywood resident Peggy Archer tagged the photo above on the LAist Featured Photos group on flickr and asks the question "Isn't there supposed to be a guy on there, or is the character a disembodied foot?"

Hopefully (we always try to stay optimistic) the statue was not stolen, but spotted being terrorized by tourists, so the proper authorities liberated the superhero from his board before the Evil Doers beat them to it.

But we're simply speculating, if anyone has the graphic details, let us know in the comments below.

Pics of the statue / fountain / thingee when it was whole, after the jump...

I noticed this yesterday, but from across the street at the film school. My money's on a theft, because my first instinct upon seeing it was to steal it (purely for it's use as a conversation piece, mind you).

i talked to someone there. it's down in the projection room. no worries.

I have it in my garage. watch fo it on E-bay!
