Tim Floyd Signs 14-year-old to USC

why is this man smiling, because hes getting some good young players - tim floyd of usc OK, USC didn't actually sign the kid who doesn't even know what high school he's going to go to yet, but they did accept his oral commitment to come to the university once he is eligible.

The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that 5'10" Ryan Boatright was impressed by second-year Trojan head coach Tim Floyd.

Boatright was at USC for a basketball camp over the weekend. Word leaked out on Monday that Floyd had offered Boatright a scholarship. The family announced the commitment Tuesday.

“It was just a coincidence,” Tanesha Boatright, Ryan’s mother, said. “Ryan has always loved USC and North Carolina. So when one of his favorite schools offered him a scholarship, he couldn’t pass it up.”

DePaul and Indiana both expressed interest in Boatright, but USC was the first school to offer. Floyd made quite an impression on the family.- Sun-Times

Floyd's most recent controversial signing was O.J. Mayo, who most people consider to be the best high school basketball player in the nation, and one who would have gone to the NBA if not for a new rule that says one must have been out of high school one year before entering the pros.
