Quiet On The Set! (I Mean You at the Change Machine.)

So I went to my laundromat today with the intention of yes, doing my laundry, and also making some notes for a post on the irritating lack of on-site laundry facilities on the east side, when bam! I walked smack into a film crew. Yes, people were filming at my laundromat. I froze and said "Oh!" embarassingly loudly, and a guy who turned out to be the director waved me on cheerfully, in that "Oh, don't let us get in your way" manner. Having spent the drive over ruminating on the east side, it was startling to be hit with something so very west side.

But the crew consisted of rather young-looking folks (the camera guy did not appear to be of drinking age), so I figured it might be something for web TV, or even a student film, until I spotted someone familiar lurking about. Some quick imdb-ing later proved him to be Bodhi Elfman, husband of Jenna. New, Ally McBeal-ish, sitcom perhaps? The scene I watched from my perch atop a washer consisted of Elfman standing in front of a dryer holding an arrow at his chest, only to be startled by a blond woman behind him (couldn't place her), into turning around and dropping the arrow. Then the two stared deeply into each other's eyes, for an excruciatingly long time in fact, before they started to kiss, and the director yelled cut.

Fascinating. It may be the fastest that time ever flew by while doing laundry. I'd just like to report that Elfman is tiny, (like most actors anyway, and apropos with his name), and inclined to checking out his hair repeatedly in dryer windows.

Hmmm...Did you sense any thetans present? Could've been the Scientology-laced film "The Sixth Sense," and that pimply-faced camera man Lord Xenu reincarnate.

I hope that by "east side" you are referring to that part of LA east of the river, not Echo Park/Silverlake.
