Good Day Frisky Kitty

Today, Councilman Dennis Zine's office announced in a press release a victory for the City in a court case against Frisky Kitty Strip Club, located in Tarzana. Basically, LAMC 12.70, a City of Los Angeles municipal code, prohibits nude dancing within 500 feet of a residential community.

Today, the court issued a permanent injunction ordering the owners of the Frisky Kitty to comply with LAMC 12.70 immediately, and imposed $90,000 on the owner of the strip club.

Essentially, the court decided (1) that LAMC 12.70 is constitutional and (2) that the Frisky Kitty is operating in violation of LAMC 12.70. Although counsel for Jamal Haddad, the owner of the Frisky Kitty, requested a stay which would allow the club to stay open and in use, the court determined that the club must immediately comply with. LAMC 12.70 which does not allow for nude dancing within 500 feet of a residential community. The location of the club is less than 500 feet from residences and as such cannot operate as an adult cabaret.

Zine then threw in a little joke saying that he was pleased with the injunction, which goes into effect today, adding that "the Frisky Kitty will offer no more skin than a visit to Zuma Beach."

The last time we went to Zuma, we remember it having many nice and secluded spots, perfect for... well, you know.
