Obviously written by someone who knows next to nothing about the Desert Center community. Including Lake Tamarisk, the permanent population is about 400-500 hardy souls, and the area has much to offer those who prefer the open space and clean air no longer found in LA. Ken Layne notwithstanding, our lives do not depend on the status of Eagle Mountain, and DirecTV brings us as much as we care to see of Los Angeles on a daily basis.
