Jesus Is Neon

If you’ve ever lived in Koreatown and decided to take 3rd Street straight into downtown, (say you’re attempting to make it to the library one more time, because this time maybe you won’t miss the parking entrance and end up on the freeway), then you might know what I’m talking about. Between Grand View and Coronado, there’s the strangest little church with a neon sign known as the Superet Light Center.

A little research into Superetism yields that what it comes down to is the belief in auras. Founded by Dr. Josephine De Croix Trust in 1926, Superetism focuses on spiritual healing through the use of “divine light”; known for short as Dr. J.C. Trust, or “Mother Trust,” the founder was inexplicably healed of tuberculosis as a child, and went on to become a proclaimed miracle healer, with an ability to see auras in all living things. The name Superet comes from her claim to have been told by the Holy Spirit, "This is the new name, Superet, which is the everlasting Fire in God's sacred purple Heart." Here’s a bit from answers.com:

The Superet Science taught by Mother Trust is the manifestation of God's light through our light atom aura. All substances that possess magnetism, especially all life, have an aura. As an aura scientist, Mother Trust was able to see both the inner (light of the soul) and outer aura. We produce the light atom aura, which is capable of receiving God's light, by developing our inner soul aura. We can then use that light for healing and to become successful in life.

Can I just say, who knew? Even wikipedia has nothing to say on the subject, aside from a blurb under “Church of Messianity”, a divine light-based religion started by Mokichi Okada in 1935 and apparently quite popular in Brazil. One thing is for sure, it's the perfect site for an spooky wedding...
