Extra-Extra!

My feelings are so still so REAL. Has anyone found where we can find cases of candles to burn for her and her family's soul? I weap.

It is SO tragic. I shed tears for her and her family. The whole family is tarnished indelibly FOREVER!

Forget about poor minorities dodging bullets in the inner-city! We have drunken narcissistic heiresses to dodge in our streets and feel sorry for!

As a little person who pays taxes - this is SUCH an injustice. Paris is right, "it's not right.!"

in response to larefugee:
1. you obviously don't know her...how/why do you feel that you have the right to judge her? if it is because she is a celebrity (public domain) you still have no right. and besides...'we' created the 'monster'
2. yes, you should be worried as a tax payer. there are 5 gaurds assigned to her at all times. she has a cell of her own. thats an extra 5 gaurds times $25 /hr times 24 hours times how many days? look at our schools. this is an obvious waste of tax payer money.
3. by pointing out a flaw in the legal system (minorities/poor being put in jail without hesitation), it doesn't mean it should keep occuring. yes people are put in jail for remenial crimes, but this should invoke change not more occurances. she, like the minorities, are being put away for
4. the crime does not fit the punishment. there is all this talk about how she should not get special treatment, but that is what she is getting in the first place by being made an example. the judge has it out for her..but is coming off as a huge hypocrite.
5. you are contributing to the attention put on. you are the one who is giving her all the power you wish she didn't have.

well, i had more to say.
don't think many will read this.
probably not worth any more of my time.

Bandwidth precludes me from rebutting your perceptions regarding the tenor of my words and there placeholder for thoughts and perception.

Judgment is not a right. Ideas and ideals, however are - what idea(l)s are being permeated into our ecosphere of community?

Perhaps what is remarkable is the absolute temerity that we as a society, feel and express when dealing with the rich/powerful (they are synonymous). Perhaps it is the "Judge" who is expressing, finally, the writ of his profession.

Taxpayer money was wasted when people of her ilk (that .02 who owns >=80% of the "wealth"), "voted" for the kleptocracy that was bequethed into power - and subsequently gave them tax cuts, us debt and a war that is killing us, our children, society and our soul.

Change will only occur when leadership is trustworthy. As an heiress she is the ultimate leader - at least in the structure of our society.

It is sad that she, and those of her ilk (and those who aspire to their status) chose to comport themselves in a way that makes this imbalance between pecuniary action human growth - acceptable.

That is - I have power, money and privilege - I shall be excused from the reality of law (just others in a power-wealth nexus) that only really applies to the slaves we know as the diminishing middle-classes and the already wage-slaves we know as the silent people who take our "orders."

Crime & Punishment indeed.

idea(l)s - as human beings, it is our responsibility to make our own conscious decisions and live under our own (self-created) idea(l)s. it is completely irresponsible and ignorant to claim that because people like Miss Hilton make choices that we don't agree with that she is the sole detrimental factor in the destruction of our society. if you are going to argue that she is in that position, i will say again...we created the monster. what i am saying is it IS possible to live your life without paris hilton having an effect on your idea(l)s.

judge - well, it is not the judges responsibility or right to invoke a sentence to make an 'example' of her. our legal system is supposed to be 'equal' to all people. i will in no way claim that it is anyway equal however. far from it. the fact is that the sentence that she received did not fit the crime. (it has also lost complete value as it is not focused on the actual crime anymore...rather only on the people). i don't think that she should just get off, but the courts should look at everyone.
and why is there that 'temerity'? i assume it is because of people's insecurities with themselves. if people learn to live their lives without comparing everything they do to others, they will find that they are happy being themselves. believe it or not...rich people aren't (all) evil.

tax - stop generalizing all rich people. you are just as bad as those rich who look down upon the poor. you should stop acting self-righteous. also, we do live in a democratic society. (personally i hate many of those in power in our government and would never vote for those individuals). but lets face it, there is nothing we can do about that (on a low scale, of course). why keep wasting and keep going further into debt? what about the crumbling ss? the US does waste a lot (i heard we could have stopped world hunger for about 20 years with that war mulah)...but we shouldn't keep wasting.

rich - i never said that because she is rich she should not serve the punishment. the crime does not fit the punishment. what i was actually saying all along is that...if we are supposed to treat all people equally then treat them as such. i have talked to a few lawyer friends and simply 'yes other people get that punishment (or worse), but it is b/c of something in addition to what they did' and 'in most cases the outcome is much less severe'.

you are very interesting.
you are a master of the english langauge.
however i feel like you are hiding behind it.

*i hope i addressed everything. if not let me know.
