The Owls Are Not What They Seem - Twin Peaks Screening @ The Mandrake

Log Lady From Twin Peaks“Whassup Haterz I’m At The Mandrake” reads the tee-shirt above the cocktail menu at Culver City’s most darling art-bar located on a once desolate stretch of La Cienega just north of Washington Blvd. The Mandrake, decorated in one part rustic, one part modern and two parts sauna is host to rotating exhibits, DJ events, film & TV screenings and of course, thirsty locals.

Nearby gallery owners and creative purveyors in the areas of fashion design, dance, art, architecture and filmmaking all had a hand in bringing the place into existence -- some silently funded the initiative, others own and run it.

Tonight, don’t miss the trifecta Twin Peaks projection orgy -- a special presentation showing of the pilot episode, episode 1, and episode 2. Has it been a while since you caught up with your favorite, backward-speaking dwarf? Don’t you miss the log lady and Agent Cooper and Angelo Badalamenti’s creepy-sexy score? Couldn’t you use a slice of cherry pie and some damn fine coffee (and hot)? Then repeat after me… She’s dead, wrapped in plastic.
