whoa...if netflix is behaving itself, i should have the second season waiting for me in my mailbox at home at this very moment. how did you know??? that's creepier than the owls....

I can honestly say I have never seen this show, but now I am truly intrigued.... First owls and log ladies, now oats and ivy? What the hell is this show anyway??

best show on tv ever
if there is justice, lynch will sign a deal with hbo
and do it correctly over there

That brought back some teen angst-y memories when I obsessively watched Twin Peaks and mourned it's demise on ABC. I dysfunctionally yearned for more.

GREATEST TELEVISION SHOW EVER!!!!

hmm. I don't think I could handle them remaking it ... the original cast was just too perfect for it to be remade with other people. But it's far too late now for the original cast to be involved with anything.. they could do some sort of "Twin Peaks: The Next Generation" I suppose, but it would probably suck.

I think the best we could hope for would be a similar sort of series from David Lynch (and Mark Frost, who was an important part of TP). Having it on HBO or Showtime would be a very good idea.. they could put in the sorts of stuff which should have been in TP but wasn't because of the sort of content restrictions that ABC had to have. (Although they did an extremely good job of working around censorship, it would have worked better with more realistic language, sex, etc.)

It's the one of the best shows ever shown on network television. It's about the fictional town of Twin Peaks where lots of strange things are happening. In the first season, FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper is sent to Twin Peaks to look into the death of a teenage girl (Laura Palmer) which appears to be the work of a serial killer. Cooper's investigation causes him to meet many of the strange residents of Twin Peaks, many of whom are involved in various sorts of criminal activity or just plain weird behavior. There are a ton of little side stories involving the various people in town, which are all interconnected in interesting ways. A lot of it is really, really funny, but also a bit spooky and in some cases maddeningly twisted and weird. It's absolutely great. You'll never see a more entertaining collection of characters in a single show.

After the series was abrubptly cancelled at the end of its second season, they made a prequel movie, but it's not nearly as good as the TV series. There were some tie-in books which are interesting, although probably impossible to find now. I wish they had continued the story in bok form after the 2nd season was cancelled, as there were some real cliffhangers. (Fans of the show not only wonder what happened to Dale at the end [is it Dale?] but also what happened to other characters, such as Audrey. It would have been nice to get more of the story, in some form or another.)
